Prof Magdalena Plebanski BScHon, MA, DPS, MBA, PhD, Director of the Enabling Capability Platform (ECP) for Health and Biomedical Innovation at RMIT is an internationally reknown immunologist, with a passion for developing practical preventive health interventions to support healthy aging.
Her own research focuses on using vaccination effectively in elderly populations to prevent infectious diseases, and innovative nanotechnology to develop new vaccines and therapies against complex diseases frequent in the elderly such as cancer and chronic inflammatory disorders.  Her cross-disciplinary research is further also showing how the environment (for example, pollution, stress, diet) affects the immune system, and how this in turn alters brain and mental health.
