Adrian is a Research Fellow at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, La Trobe University. He is an editorial board member of Contemporary Drug Problems and co-convener of the Victorian Substance Use Research Forum. Adrian’s research focuses on understandings of addiction and health, youth drug consumption, drug education and other health initiatives. His current research is on the impediments to the uptake of take-home naloxone (THN) in Australia.
Adrian has published on young men’s drug consumption and friendship, young men’s understandings of health promotion information, gender and drug education, neuroscientific accounts of youth and addiction and, most recently, experiences of take-home naloxone.
Adrian works with Science and Technology Studies and related approaches to explore how alcohol and other drug consumption takes shape in encounters between people, substances and society.
